About Rachel Marks- Personalised Health Coach
I didn’t have a typical start for someone who would become a personal trainer and personalised health coach. Physical Education at school wasn’t something I enjoyed, and I wasn’t a fan of team sports. I even thought I had two left feet and struggled with anything requiring coordination. I remember complaining as a child when my father took me on long walks, which made exercise feel like a chore
During my 20s and early 30s, gym visits were a bit haphazard. Even though I stayed slim, I wasn’t particularly fit. Developing a chronic health problem prompted me to commit to a structured fitness regime, which proved life-changing—helping me regain strength and vitality that I had lost due to illness.
Seeing the dramatic improvement in my strength and fitness inspired me to change careers, first becoming a personal trainer and later a personalised health coach.
Becoming a Personal Trainer and Personalised Health Coach
Since qualifying as a personal trainer and health coach, I became passionate about helping people improve their fitness, energy and health. I felt like it was my purpose to help people and consequently it felt so gratifying. I understood how changing my own lifestyle had made such an astounding difference to the way I looked and felt. I developed a strong understanding of how and why people struggle to exercise and I am committed to help people make positive changes to their lives.
After 22 years of  working as a personal trainer, and a NLP practitioner in the fitness industry  I feel just as devoted as ever about helping people create the health and lifestyle they deserve. My approach is unique, as I believe all elements of lifestyle (using Epigenetics Personalised Health system) need to be refined for maximal results. That's why I have such an amazing success rate with my clients and I even mentor other personal trainers for improved skills.
Rachel Marks media and awards
I regularly appear on TV 1 and present alongside world class professionals at The Exercise New Zealand Conference. I am very proud of twice reaching the NZ Personal Trainer of the Year finals in 2011 and 2012. In addition, I became a finalist in the Initiative category for my "Get fit with the dog" class in 2015.
Take the next step and let me help you become fitter, healthier and happier.
